Caboose does not collect, store, or share any personal data from its users. Our app does not require you to provide any personal information, and we do not access or track any of your device's data (e.g., contacts, location, photos, or other media).
Caboose uses macOS Screen Recording permission to capture a dedicated virtual display that the app creates specifically for streaming to your Android tablet. This section provides detailed information about how screen recording data is handled.
The only feature that uses screen recording is the display streaming functionality. Caboose captures video from a virtual display (separate from your primary Mac screen) and streams it in real-time to your connected Android device, allowing you to use your Android tablet as a secondary monitor.

Screen capture data is collected solely to enable real-time display streaming to your Android device over your local network. The video frames are:
There is no other purpose for this data. No analysis, storage, profiling, or secondary use of screen recording data occurs.
Screen recording data is never shared with any third parties. The video stream is transmitted exclusively to your own Android device over your local network (WiFi or USB). No screen recording data is sent to external servers, cloud services, analytics providers, or any other third parties.
Screen recording data is not stored. All video frames exist only in device memory during the brief moment between capture, encoding, and transmission to your Android device. Once transmitted, frames are immediately discarded. No screen recording data is written to disk, cached, logged, or persisted in any form. When the streaming session ends, all data is cleared from memory.
Screen recording data has zero retention. Data exists only for the milliseconds required to encode and transmit each frame. No historical data is kept, and no recordings can be retrieved after transmission.
Caboose uses your local WiFi network or USB connection to communicate between your Mac and Android device. All communication occurs directly between your devices using peer-to-peer connections. No data is sent to external servers or third parties.
Caboose does not use third-party analytics tools, crash reporting services, or any other third-party services that track or collect data about your app usage or screen content.
Caboose does not display any advertisements and does not require in-app purchases.
